Title deed (property)
If you buy a property or receive a property as a gift, in the case of inheritance or through division of property, you must apply for title deed to the Land Survey. By applying for title deed, you will be registered as the owner of the property. Along with your application, you must send the title deed (that is, the deed of gift, purchase contract or other document that proves you are the new owner). The application should be sent in as soon as possible because it is important that it is clear that you are the owner of the property so that previous owners do not illegally mortgage the property.
The title deed cost varies greatly depending on the way in which the property was obtained (purchase, gift, inheritance or estate division) and attention is required as the tax rules are also different, especially regarding deferral. It is therefore important to carefully think through in advance how a transfer of ownership should be arranged, especially in related situations.
Shared title deed for residence
Does it really matter if one or both of you are the owner of the home? There are tax advantages to shared title. If both own the property, for example, both have the right to make ROT deductions. The fact that both own the property can also be important in the event of divorce and in the event of death.
We can help you with the application for title deed and also draw up a purchase contract and gift deed if you wish.
Establishing a title deed with us costs SEK 1,999.
